A fan group is launching the open beta for an ambitious multiplayer project. The update transforms the world of Bohemia into a persistent sandbox.
Have you ever felt that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 could be even more than it is? For example, an online multiplayer experience?
That’s exactly the goal of a modding group that’s transforming the medieval role-playing game into a multiplayer platform with their creation.
As the team announces on its website, you can now participate in the open beta of the multiplayer mod, provided you own Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on Steam.
More Than Just Campaign Co-op: Modders Are Building a Multiplayer Sandbox
“This isn’t a mod that simply throws a second player into the campaign,” they say. “Rather, we’re laying the groundwork for many different multiplayer experiences in the game you’ve already purchased.”
“To start with, you’ll have a blast in Free-Roam mode. You’ll ride across the entire map together with other players on the server and see what adventures await you.”
Persistent RP Servers and a Fully Synchronized Combat System
When you log in to a public server, you’ll enter RP server mode right away. There, you can explore the game world of Bohemia however you like, and everything is persistent. That means: Open doors, gates, and chests are always synchronized for all players on the server.
No weapons, fists up. Every punch, block, and dodge lands the same on both screens, because the server determines the damage. KCD2 KingdomComeDeliverance2 pic.twitter.com/aIxGV36XaE

The implementation also includes a fully functional combat system, which the developers have already demonstrated in action: “Every strike, every block, and every dodge is displayed exactly the same on both screens, since the server alone determines the damage dealt,” they write.
If you’ve already fully mastered KCD2, you might find additional motivation to do so again alongside like-minded players.
