The first major preview of GTA 6 reveals tons of cool details: You shouldn’t stress your character out too much [UPDATED]

In an interview with Dazed, the developers behind GTA 6 discuss all sorts of aspects of the game. We’ve summarized the most important information for you.

Less than 24 hours before the big GTA 6 gameplay reveal on Netflix, Dazed magazine published an online interview in which Rockstar reveals a ton of new details. And because we care about you, we’re summarizing the most important info in German so you’ll be up to date when the doors open on Netflix.

In the Dazed interview, Rob Nelson, Head of Development at Rockstar North, and Rupert Humphries, Senior Vice President of Narrative, are the main speakers—the focus is primarily on Vice City as the setting and the impact of your actions on the two main characters, Lucia and Jason. Here’s a quick rundown.

All the important new gameplay details from the Dazed interview

• The male protagonistJasonused to be in the military and now works as a courier for all kinds of drug shipments.

• The female protagonistLuciais fresh out of prison at the start of GTA 6. The two are a couple.

• Thiscouple dynamicalso affects gameplay: You can go solo at any time or, alternatively, take Lucia or Jason with you.

• You’ll also have (at least largely) free rein during missions. The interview gives this example: You can sit behind the wheel as Jason and drive to a mission objective, or switch to Lucia, who’s scrolling through her phone in the passenger seat or taking aim at targets out the window during heated situations.

• On that note: GTA 6 simulatesa complete social media systemincluding a feed. So you can also spend an unhealthy amount of time on your phone in-game.

• But that can have consequences: Just like in the original San Andreas, Lucia and Jason’s physiques aren’t set in stone. If you eat too much, don’t get enough sleep, or keep your adrenaline levels up for too long, it will affect your physical condition. Or to put it simply:You can develop dark circles under your eyes, lose weight, gain weight, build muscle, or end up looking like the famous Florida Man. Tanning is also simulated if you spend too much time out in the sun.

• Therelationship between Lucia and Jasonis supposed to develop in a more complex way and depend on your behavior in finer detail than the relationships between the three main characters in GTA 5.

The interview also focuses specifically on the design of the world:

• In Los Angeles, an entire Rockstar team works exclusively on thesimulation of passersby.

• Every district in the state of Leonida offersits own demographic characteristics, with NPCs varying in height, age, tattoos, and piercings—some have undergone surgical procedures, cosmetic surgeries, and so on.

• There will bea complete in-game fashion systemsimulated with different trends and lifestyles.

• Your surroundings are designed to react more realistically than everto your behavior, for example, when you’re walking around with a gun in your hand.

• The dev team behind GTA 6 isabout twice as large as that of Red Dead Redemption 2.
