Even before the gameplay reveal on Netflix on August 27, new footage from GTA 6 has surfaced online. The alleged leak shows, among other things, the complete open-world map.

There’s news about GTA 6,but no one is going to be very happy about it.

The group “Cyberleek” haspublished several gameplay videos and screenshotsthat appear to be from an early version ofGTA 6

The material appears credible and bears similarities to the 2022 leak. The scenes shown are rather unspectacular: Anyone expecting wild car chases or spectacular shootouts will instead see everyday life in the Sunshine State of Vice City.

Update from August 20, 2026:According to the latest information, the leaker is in possession of a playable version of GTA 6; the videos come directly from the game and are likely not secondhand. This is suggested by the fact that the hacker(s) behind the leak wrote part of their name on a wall with bullet holes in a recent video.

We are deliberately not showing the leak here, nor are we linking to any sources. However, the footage does allow for some conclusions about gameplay elements and also reveals new details about the Wanted system or a new stamina bar. We’ve summarized the most important points for you.

  • Here’s how the community is reacting to the GTA 6 leak:“I don’t feel a bit of sympathy for Rockstar”
  • GTA expert Vali puts the leak into perspective: “Anyone who jumps to conclusions right now is drawing the wrong ones”

    Basketball Instead of Action

In the first clip, which lasts about a minute, protagonist Jason Duval is at a coastal estate. The building has already been featured in official images and videos.

In the gameplay clip, Jason jumps over the terrace railing, runs down the driveway, and grabs a basketball lying around. He then takes a quick shot at the basket. Making the shot rewards the player with a two-percent increase in the “Focus” stat. This likely hints at a slow-motion feature that you can upgrade over time.

Additionally, the HUD shows two different amounts of money. This suggests that Rockstar is once again distinguishing between cash on hand and savings in a bank account.

A second alleged clip from GTA 6shows a test drive behind the wheel of a sedan. The driver collides with a delivery van, gets out, and attacks the other driver.

The following systems can be inferred from the material:

    • Wanted Level and Identification:The Wanted system goes up to six stars, one more than in the previous game. The police identify you based on your clothing, hair color, and vehicle. Changing these characteristics likely makes it easier to escape. You can surrender to the police at any time.

    • Stamina and Karma:Fistfights now cost stamina. If the stamina bar empties while striking, the edges of the screen darken, indicating restricted movement. When you use violence against defenseless civilians, a devil symbol also appears, reminiscent of the morality system from Red Dead 2. Fistfights feature slow-motion finishers.

    • Vehicles with Depth:Cars have their own gauges for fuel level and engine condition. Additionally, the trunk can be used as limited inventory space. When stealing parked cars, you can either smash the window or try to secretly copy the key.

    • Stealth:A blue indicator shows how close the police are to noticing you. This means it should be possible to complete missions using stealth instead of relying solely on firearms. Non-lethal tasers are available as an alternative to firearms. You can also de-escalate arguments and confrontations with NPCs with the press of a button.

    • Minimap:Racetracks are visible on the map, suggesting corresponding side activities. Additionally, the location of the other main character is permanently marked, even when you’re not currently controlling them—a new feature compared to GTA 5.

GTA 6: The Map Has Apparently Been Leaked Too

Along with the videos, Cyberleeklinked to an image of the alleged in-game map of Vice Cityand its surroundings. It remains unclear whether this is an internal developer document or a clever forgery.

Hacker Cyberleek cites hisfrustration over the lack of physical disc versionsof GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as his motivation.

Cyberleek itself calls for donations and the purchase of a mysterious cryptocurrencyvia dubious websites. We warn against clicking on such links or scanning QR codes.

It’s no coincidence that this kind of content is surfacing right now. The official reveal of actual gameplay footage from GTA 6 is just a few days away.

Rockstar is partnering with Netflix for this, where the footage will be available exclusively for six hours on August 27 before it appears on other channels like YouTube.
