Krafton has released the new patch on PC. In addition to weapon adjustments, Playgrounds introduces a new hub for community modes.

Krafton has released Update 42.3 for the PC version of PUBG: Battlegrounds—console players will have to wait until August 20.

The latest version introduces the RPD light machine gun, extensive adjustments to the entire LMG weapon class, and PUBG: Playgrounds.

New RPD LMG and Balance Changes to the LMG Class

“The RPD is a fully automatic LMG that uses 7.62mm ammunition and can be found on all maps,” Krafton announced. “It deals 43 damage, has a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute, and can be equipped with scopes offering up to 6x magnification, magazines, and stock attachments.”

Meanwhile, the reload times for all LMGs have been reduced by 25 percent. Vertical recoil has been adjusted by lowering the maximum recoil during sustained fire and optimizing recoil as the burst continues to reduce abrupt changes. The maximum horizontal recoil deviation has also been reduced by about 30 percent to improve handling stability. When you’re traveling in a vehicle and firing from it, spread and recoil now increase in proportion to your movement speed.

PUBG: Playgrounds as a New Hub for Community Modes

PUBG: Playgrounds is a new hub for creative game modes. Here, you can browse community-created modes and jump right into them via matchmaking. Previously, this required using external websites or manually setting up custom games.

“The modes featured in PUBG: Playgrounds are selected through various channels, including curation by the development team and official competitions, with new modes added regularly every month,” the announcement states.

Improved User Interface and Mini-Game During Server Maintenance

Additional features are designed to further enhance the gaming experience. A dedicated team selection interface allows hosts and players to select or switch teams more intuitively. The end screen now displays the winning team, the results of each round, and the match’s overall standings all at once, while the device icons have been updated to improve readability and consistency.

During server maintenance, you’ll now be able to play the PC-exclusive POBG minigame. This minigame saves each player’s best score, and any ongoing game can be resumed even after maintenance is complete.
