The patch brings brand-new biomes and helpful SEAF troops to the shooter. At the same time, the game is making its debut on PlayStation Plus.
Developer Arrowhead released a massive new update today called “Devoid of Liberty” for Helldivers 2.
Coinciding with the release of version 7.0.0, the popular co-op shooter is also joining the game catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium today.
Among other things, the patch introduces new Illuminate enemies, a fresh biome, and raises the level cap from 150 to 300. Each of the 15 new title ranks that come with this update rewards you with a unique title and a matching icon.
“We have received intelligence reports,” it says. “These indicate that the transformed creatures are emerging directly from the heart of the Void. They are sinister distractions created by the Illuminate Plague to threaten our freedom.”
SEAF Support and Enhanced Convenience Features
In addition, the update introduces a new SEAF planetary modifier. The Super Earth Armed Forces will now join you on missions and actively engage in combat, even using new tools such as stim pistols, heavy machine guns, and more.
The NPC troops are designed to exhibit improved behavior; they also carry powerful weapons and are rendered with updated models. Meanwhile, you’ll have more ways to express yourself on the battlefield, as the emote wheel has been expanded from four to eight slots.
New Enemy Types and Full Patch Notes
Among the new enemies is the Crusher. This enemy “is on a death march and heals itself while taking massive damage. You must wear it down quickly and relentlessly, without letting up.”
The Wretch “is a relentless and extremely agile opponent. It demands a quick trigger finger and absolutely precise aim. It dodges your shots and pounces right on you. As it advances, it dismantles your weapons in a flash—and your will to live along with them.”
