Cyberpunk 2077 will soon receive the next update: Developer CD Projekt RED gives a preview of the biggest changes. We summarise all the information for you.

Cyberpunk 2077 officially announces Patch 1.3: More info to be revealed in a livestream on 17 August.

The last major update Cyberpunk 2077 received was on 29 March 2021, when reactions were mixed and it quickly became clear that CD Projekt Red still had some work to do. On 16 August 2021, Patch 1.3, including some changes, was officially announced. However, there are no patch notes yet.

An important note: The changes presented here only show a part of the changes that are to appear with Patch 1.3. Which changes are still to come is not yet known.

Patch 1.3: Minimap, perk adjustments and customised video sequences

The announcement of the new patch was made in a news message on the official website of Cyberpunk. The message itself describes the problems in Night City from the perspective of the in-game news channel N54 News, which were supplemented by developer comments. Three videos each show one change of the new patch.

Change 1: Zoom of the mini-map while driving

You’re driving through Night City at 200 km/h, only to slam on the brakes because you missed the exit. With patch 1.3, the mini-map will zoom out while you’re driving and you’ll be able to see when you should change lanes to avoid missing the exit. We have compared the two scenes for you:

Mini-Map Version 1.3

It is currently not known how much the mini-map zooms out at higher speeds – so far there was only a short video in which the speed corresponded more to a leisurely Sunday drive.

Change 2: Video sequences become longer

You are standing in Clouds, staring at the screen and listening to the friendly voice of the receptionist – and suddenly the video sequence ends while the audio track still continues. According to CD Projekt Red, the problem was with the video setup itself: The value for video time was shorter than the video sequence. In the future, you should have a better understanding of the decision you make in each sequence.

However, it is currently unknown whether and which other video sequences will benefit from this.

Change 3: Resetting Perk Points

The attributes of V cannot simply be reset with patch 1.3. Instead, you will be able to reset perks in the future – but you will have to pay a hefty sum of credits for it. According to the official announcement, however, it will be affordable for all players, “so that no one who wants to invest in certain advantages will have to hesitate for long”.

In the new update of Cyberpunk 2077 you will be able to reset Perks with one click - but not Attributes.

Livestream with more info and more news

The changes presented are only meant to show a part of the changes that will find their way into the game with patch 1.3. The full list with all changes should be released soon. There will also be a livestream on Twitch at 6pm on 17 August, where there will be “more impressions of news in Night City”.
