Ubisoft Creative House 2 is getting a new boss, and he’s no stranger to the company.

The shake-up at Ubisoft is still in full swing. While another 200 employees were laid off as recently as June 2026, there are now changes at the executive level as well. Creative House 2, which oversees the Tom Clancy franchise, is getting a new boss who brings many years of industry experience to the table.

From Amazon to Ubisoft

The position will be filled byChristoph Hartmann, former vice president of Amazon Games, who announced earlier this year that he would be leaving the company after seven years. The German-born executive cited Amazon’s increasing shift away from ambitious AAA games and toward third-party titles and games for its own cloud gaming service, Luna.

Prior to that, Hartmannspent 14 years at 2K Games as president of the publishing label. In total, he brings over 20 years of industry experience in leadership roles.

Hartmann is now in charge of most of the Tom Clancy franchise at Ubisoft. This includes well-known brands such as Splinter Cell, The Division, and Ghost Recon. Only Rainbow Six remains with Creative House 1, which has since been renamed Vantage Studios.

It remains to be seen whether he can use his experience to turn things around. It’s certainly necessary, as the last successful Tom Clancy game wasThe Division 2—and that was released back in 2019. Hartmann himself says viaLinkedInabout his new position:

For nearly four decades, Ubisoft has created some of the gaming industry’s most iconic brands and earned a reputation for developing ambitious AAA games that captivate millions of players around the world. (…) I’ve long admired the company for its creativity, the strength of its brands, and, above all, the talented people behind them.

My goal is simple: to create an environment where talented teams can perform at their best and continue to develop games that players love.

A new Ghost Recon is set to be released by March 2029. By then at the latest, Hartmann’s new leadership should start to make its mark. Whether other titles from Creative House 2 will hit the market before then is still unknown, but it’s possible.
