In *God of War: Loki*, you’re accompanied by a Jell-O that sounds just like Hughie from *The Boys*—and for good reason.
God of War Laufeyhas been unveiled and takes a different approach in many ways compared to its two predecessors. This time, you don’t play the god-slayer Kratos, but his late wife Faye, who carries on her husband’s legacy in the realm of the dead. Atreus isn’t part of the adventure this time either, but you’re not alone.
You’re accompanied by a giant cube made of Jell-O, played by The Boys star Jack Quaid. This has sparked tons of funny reactions on social media.
Hey there, Cubie!
The cosmicJell-O
is named Phranque and is found alongside the talking sword Rue by Faye. We don’t yet know what Phranque is doing there in the divine realm of the dead. But let’s just say, there’s a reason why Jell-O is also called “God’s dessert” …
Jack Quaid provided the voice and motion capture, whom you may recognize as Hughie inThe Boysor Nathan inMr. No Painknows. The news platform DiscussingFilm hasposted a clip from the filming on X, and the comments section is full of humor.

A large portion of the comments find it strange (but also fantastic) that Quaid was actually placed inside a motion capture cube to record motion capture footage.
- AFC Kingy:
As if they really dressed the man like a dice.
- Pushpender Shekhawat:
Jack Quaid went from Homelanders’ worst nightmare to a damn talking cube. “We’ve got to pay the motion capture guys somehow” at its finest.
The name Phranque is also causing a stir.
- Zoey Richardson:
Oscar-worthy actor. Legendary franchise. Character name: Phranque.
- Kiko:
Phranque with PH takes me to a whole new dimension.
Of course, there are alsoreferences to The Boysthat can’t be missed. For example, one user fictitiously slips into the role of Billy Butcher:
- Aad de Mos (reboot):
Oi Cubie, we’re gonna kill the f*****g gods.
But there’s also positive feedback:
- The Series & Movie Feed:
Jack Quaid is really living the dream right now. He’s wrapping up The Boys and jumping right into playing a sentient space cube named Phranque. His voice is a perfect fit for the serious yet goofy companion.
