Free on Steam: This weekend, there are 6 games available for free download, including a hit vampire survival game

Over the next few days, it’ll be really hard to choose just one of the free titles. The lineup includes V Rising and Astral Ascent.

Some of you may already be in the middle of a long weekend, while others are bravely soldiering on even without a long weekend. But one thing applies to everyone: Steam currently has plenty of great deals for bargain hunters.

Valve’s gaming platform currently has a total of six titles available for free download, which you can play to your heart’s content over the coming days. Most of them are even highly praised by players.

Highlight: V Rising

At a time when the sun is getting more and more intense, you might be in the mood for a change of pace. The darkV Risingturns you into a creature that doesn’t fare too well in sunlight.On Steam, this action-survival hybrid has a total rating of89 percent based on over 100,000 reviews.

Here’s what it’s about: You wake up as a vampire in an earthen grave and don’t have much to your name at first. So your first steps involve crafting makeshift tools and establishing a safe base.

You won’t have much peace, though. You’ll need to use your vampire powers to fend off enemies, avoid the sun, and regularly quench your thirst for blood. By defeating boss enemies, you’ll collect better gear and upgrade your lair until you eventually become a true vampire lord with castles à la Castlevania.

If this vampire survival hit sounds like your thing, you can grab it on Steam until May 21 with a 55% discount (16 euros).

      • Greedfall: The Dying World: This RPG sequel launched this year, moving from Early Access to a full release. It didn’t really win us over—or the Steam community. All the better that you can now try it out for free. With your own character, you gather allies in a fantasy world inspired by the 17th century.

          • Terrors to Unveil – Day Off: This horror series tells spine-chilling stories in the style of Fears to Fathom. In this episode, you play as 26-year-old Jack, who wants to relax in a remote forest cabin after a long workweek. As you can imagine, things don’t stay as quiet here as he had imagined. By the way, you can keep this title even after the weekend.
