Film adaptations of our favorite video games are all the rage again, and they’re actually turning out surprisingly well these days! Well, at least most of the time. Sure, there are duds like Borderlands or Silent Hill, but there are also truly magnificent adaptations like Fallout or Arcane. Where will Street Fighter fit in?

We’ll find out byOctober 15, 2026, at the latest, when director Kitao Sakurai’s remake hits German theaters.

And boy, it doesn’t get much more faithful to the source material than this! The costumes and moves could have come straight out of the video games—or in fact, they actually did. They even smash a car in a totally authentic way!

The cast is certainly impressive, as several well-known actors and martial artists have signed on for the project. Among them areAndrew Koji(Ryu),Noah Centineo (Ken Masters),Callina Liang(Chun-Li),Jason Momoa(Blanka),David Dastmalchian(M. Bison),Olivier Richters (Zangief),50 Cent(Balrog),Mel Jarnon(Cammy) and many more.

By the way, before Street Fighter hits theaters, another completely different fighting game adaptation—Mortal Kombat 2—will premiere onMay 7, 2026. Which of the two will emerge victorious?
