Table of Contents
Highlight of the week: Samson
(Genre: Action-Adventure – Developer: Liquid Swords – Release: April 8, 2026 (Steam)
In this gripping action-adventure game from Stockholm-based studio Liquid Swords, you take on the role of ex-criminal Samson, who has to fight for the survival of his sister in the fictional 1990s metropolis of “Tyndalston”. Your creditors are breathing down your neck, forcing you to work off horrendous debts in a world full of corruption and violence.
When the fists fly, the title deliberately wants to say goodbye to shooting and focus on heavily physics-based melee combat. Firearms are said to be extremely rare, which is why you turn the immediate surroundings into your weapon in brawls.
The sophisticated damage model for the vehicles is intended to stand out significantly from the usual open-world competition, as cars are made up of dozens of independent components. A shot tire, a damaged engine block or a battered chassis function completely independently of each other, which should have a direct impact on the handling of your getaway car.
The main campaign implements a merciless action point system that punishes every missed deadline and every fumbled task with horrendous penalties for your growing mountain of debt. This is designed to create an enormous amount of stress, making even the smallest accident or botched brawl incredibly expensive.
