Wardogs wants to attack Battlefield with large tactical multiplayer battles – but now also takes aim at Call of Duty.
Wardogs is an ambitious new first-person shooter that sends 100 players into battle at the same time. The game aims to offer a thoroughly tactical and realistic gaming experience, which is also reflected in the depiction of the soldiers.
There will be no colorful skins that don’t fit into a modern military setting.
This information is being released by developer Bulkhead with a clear dig at Call of Duty.
Wardogs does away with colorful skins
In a post on X, Bulkhead introduces its tactical shooter and makes a clear statement under the heading “Monetization.”

Specifically, it states:
No battle pass. No pay-to-win.
No Nikki Minaj skins. No nonsense.
Earn cosmetics by playing.
Wardogs is an immersive, tactical all-out warfare FPS that doesn’t forget it’s a game…
This is undoubtedly a reference to the controversial skin crossovers in Call of Duty, which also included the artist Nikki Minaj. Other collaborations included rapper Snoop Dogg, the animated series Family Guy, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
For Black Ops 7, the intention was to avoid inappropriate skins, but at the beginning of the year, there was another crossover with the Amazon series Fallout, including the usual negative feedback.
How does Wardogs make money then?
As you can read in the X post, there will be no Battle Pass, and players will only be able to earn skins by playing the game. However, the statement does not rule out microtransactions in its wording.
The game will launch on March 17, 2026, in Early Access on Steam and has not yet announced a price for the test phase. However, players can register for a chance to be invited to a playtest on the official website.
In a few weeks, we’ll see whether developer Bulkhead has bitten off more than it can chew or whether Wardogs is a new tactical shooter that will thrill fans of the genre. In the article above, we take a closer look at features such as vehicle combat, level destruction, and construction mechanics.
