How Road to Vostok is played
The setting is a post-apocalyptic border region between Finland and Russia. Although there are similarities to Escape from Tarkov in terms of visuals and the level of realism of the weapons, it is not an extraction shooter.
It’s more of a survival experience where you search the game world for loot and dismantle scrap into useful parts. You can then purchase useful items from merchants. However, since there is no currency, you have to barter and haggle.
Bandits and corrupt border guards force you to take up arms to reach the final area, Vostok. However, this is a permadeath zone.
Other features include a day-night cycle, dynamic weather and seasons, and shelters that you can set up and equip yourself.
If you want to learn a little more about Road to Vostok, our colleague Tillmann has already spent an unplanned but welcome long session playing the single-player shooter and was thrilled by its dense and suspenseful atmosphere. In addition, you can currently try out a free demo on Steam.
