Season 1 is just around the corner, and the developers are now revealing important changes to weapons, movement, challenges, and more.
Shortly before the eagerly awaited launch of Season 1 on October 28, the developers of Battlefield 6 have published a comprehensive update on the upcoming changes.
We’ve summarized the most important points for you so that you know what to expect.
Weapon balancing and movement
According to the developer, a key point of criticism from many players was the weapon handling: EA has responded to this with targeted adjustments to the so-called dispersion
, i.e. the spread of the bullets. The aim is to ensure that the accuracy of each weapon better corresponds to its intended role over different distances. A bug that prevented the dispersion from decreasing as expected when switching from sprinting to prone position has also been fixed.
Two other bugs that made the shooting feel less precise than intended should be a thing of the past with the update:
- Shooting after sprinting: Weapons had higher spread when fired in aim mode immediately after sprinting.
- Start of movement: Spread increased too quickly as soon as you started moving, which was particularly noticeable when using a controller.
Movement is also being revamped: According to the developers, movements should feel more consistent in the future without changing the basic game speed. At the same time, the stability of the crosshairs will be improved by minimizing the movement of the crosshairs during certain animations. These adjustments should ensure smoother and more precise aiming.
Progression and Challenges
The progression system, which we have also criticized heavily, is also under review. The developers are continuing to monitor XP allocation and plan to significantly increase the yield in Escalation and King of the Hill modes, as the rewards did not always work correctly here.
Particularly good news for everyone working on the challenges: The team is planning a series of improvements to make the tasks quicker to complete. These changes will be spread over at least two updates. The developers cited the following examples of drastic reductions in requirements:
- Assault Soldier: Kills while using the Adrenaline Injector will be reduced from 30 to 3.
- Engineer: Damage points repaired to vehicles in a match will be reduced from 6,000 to 1,000 damage points.
- Sharpshooter: Headshot kills over 200 meters with sniper rifles are reduced from 150 to 5. The distance of 200 meters will also be reduced in a later update.
Battle Royale mode
The Battle Royale mode tested in Battlefield Labs is also receiving some important adjustments based on player feedback:
- Time-to-kill in close combat: The TTK has been reduced for all weapons at close range. For you, this means that you have more time to react to an attack.
- Armor Plates: Each player can now carry two armor plates at the start of a round. You start with one plate, but you immediately have the chance to find another one and maximize your armor.
- Vehicle Balance: Helicopters and combat vehicles have been adjusted. They are intended to remain powerful tools, but no longer be essential for surviving or winning the late stages of a match. In particular, the countermeasures and ammunition capacity of helicopters have been revised.
It has not yet been confirmed when this Battle Royale mode will officially hit the live servers. However, according to various leaks, it should be ready in time for the start of Season 1 of Battlefield 6 on October 28, 2025. In addition to all these changes, you can also expect new game modes, maps, weapons, and skins – read more about this in the link box above.
