EA is taking a more colorful approach with the uniforms in Season 1, and some players are not happy about it.
Next week, there will be a new wave of content for Battlefield 6. That means new maps, modes, and weapons, which we were able to try out in advance – find out what to expect in our preview.
Season 1 also means there’s a first Battle Pass, which you can use to unlock a bunch of cosmetics. However, the first images of the new skins haven’t been very well received by parts of the community.
“Why not normal uniforms?”
When you start Season 1 on October 28, 2025, you can expect to see skins in the classic military look, as well as some with a little more color and patterns that deviate from this image.
And that’s exactly what some players disagree with, not least because DICE’s Design Director Shashank Uchil said the following about skins back in August:
I don’t think we need Nicki Minaj. Let’s keep it realistic and stay grounded.
But according to some fans, BF6 is now betraying this very statement with the new skins. The following Reddit post discusses a uniform with a blue pattern as an example.

User charliekruse wants to express his protest directly in the game and plans to: ”I won’t save anyone wearing these skins. That’s my approach.”
“Why is it so much to ask to just wear normal military uniforms?”, says navyproudd34 know, and picwins believes: ”It didn’t stay on the ground, it just looks terrible.”
However, there are also dissenting voices in the thread. DrizzyDragon93 writes: ”Is it realistic? No. Is it more realistic than Beavis and Butt-Head, Peter Griffin, Sgt. PsPsPs, Wubz, Feelin Sloothy, and many others? I would say yes.”
The big picture
The blue skin is definitely an extreme example of the upcoming outfits. The following Reddit thread shows a larger picture of the uniforms in Season 1, only some of which have been given a little more color.

The player sac_boy writes: ”Well, yes. Some of them look a lot like Monster Energy, but about 75 percent of the skins are usable. We’ll see how everyone ends up choosing the right camouflage anyway, because they don’t want to be at a disadvantage.”
Looking at the breadth of variations, Battlefield is still a long way from following the same path as Call of Duty when it comes to brand crossovers and wacky skins. There are definitely “classic” military uniforms. Nevertheless, the fact that players are taking a stand against the potential direction of more colorfulness is a signal to the developers.
