Battlefield 6: Can’t hit anything? It may not be your fault

Shortly after its release, the shooter had problems correctly assigning some hits. Hopefully, a hotfix will now fix this.

Update from October 16, 2025:  No sooner had we reported on it than the hotfix arrived. Coincidence? Who knows. In any case, the problems with hit registration should now be a thing of the past. The fact that some clear hits in Battlefield 6 had no effect was probably due to certain attachment combinations, as the official X account writes:

You can read about exactly what happened in our original report on the issues here.

Original message

“Huh, I hit it, didn’t I?!” If you find yourself saying this a lot in Battlefield 6 at the moment, it may not be down to your skills, and you don’t need to see an eye doctor (although it never hurts to be safe). Hit registration is really glitchy at the moment, at least with some weapons.

This was confirmed by Dice’s Principal Game Designer, Florian Le Bihan, on X (formerly Twitter). He also promises improvement, but needs support from the community to do so.

What’s going on?

Here is a clear example of how the problem can manifest itself in the game:

Alright, which one of you loaded up my rifle with blanks?

The lead developer also refers to this Reddit post and asks how many people are affected and with which weapons and attachments the bug occurs. He writes that they are already closely monitoring the issue:

We are currently investigating this. Usually, it looks like the target is visibly hit (blood splatter), but no damage is confirmed in the HUD (no hit indicator, etc.).

It is not yet known whether this is due to server lag or something else. However, a patch is likely to be released soon to address the issue, as Le Bihan suggests.

The EA deal: Background on the new owners

In September 2025, it was announced that EA would be privatized and transferred to an investor consortium for around €47 billion. The new owners of EA include the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF and Affinity Partners, Jared Kushner’s investment firm. Saudi Arabia is accused of political and human rights repression, such as the persecution of activists and journalists. There is also deep-rooted discrimination against minorities. Freedom of expression is structurally suppressed. Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, has repeatedly been criticized for dubious real estate deals, secret contacts with the Russian government, and allegations of corruption.
Kushner also maintains close contact with Saudi Crown Prince and PIF Chairman Mohammed bin Salman. The community’s reaction so far has been more amused than truly angry, certainly also because the developers are communicating clearly and quickly.
Of course, the memes are not long in coming:

However, DICE shouldn’t take too long to release a few patches, as there have been quite a few reports of graphics bugs and dissatisfaction with weapon spread.

Have you experienced this kind of situation, or is Battlefield 6 running as intended for you so far? If you record clips showing such bugs, it’s always worth sending them to official support. The more data developers collect, the more precisely they can pinpoint the source of a problem – and hopefully fix it sooner.
