GOG has been offering games without copy protection for 17 years and is currently running a big birthday sale! We’ve picked out a few of the best deals from the bunch.

For 17 years, GOG.com has been offering not only good old games, but now especially games without copy protection. That’s why the store is loved by so many gamers! After all, they have full control over the games they buy and don’t even necessarily need a launcher to play them.

As with Steam, GOG also regularly has big sales with high discounts. We’re celebrating GOG’s birthday and have dived into the huge flood of discounts to find what we consider to be real gems. In other words, great games at unbeatable prices.

Let’s get started!

These are our 10 highlights from the GOG sale

You have until October 6 to browse through the offers at GOG. You’re sure to find something you like. But here are 10 games that are definitely worth considering and our editorial recommendations.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt Red’s massive role-playing game tells one of the best stories you’ll ever see in a game. On top of that, the action-packed battles that regularly erupt in the dystopian megacity of Night City are a real blast! The role-playing game has never been cheaper than it is now. (22 euros, reduced by 65 percent)
  • Doom (2016) – The reboot of one of the most legendary shooter series of all time impresses with its brutal action. As a tough marine, you clean up the hordes of hell on Mars – but really clean them up. (4 euros, reduced by 80 percent)
  • Batman: Arkham Knight – The entire Arkham series is reduced and absolutely worth playing. We recommend the third great adventure featuring the Dark Knight, who this time must save all of Gotham from the fear gas of the villain Scarecrow. Graphically, this action-adventure game still looks great today. (6 euros, reduced by 85 percent)

  • The Curse of Monkey Island  – The third installment of the legendary Monkey Island games is a real treasure and, despite its age, still well worth playing today. A fantastic story, full of humor, entertaining puzzles, and three-headed monkeys. (2 euros, reduced by 65 percent)
  • RoboCop: Rogue City  – Perhaps not the best shooter in terms of craftsmanship, and certainly not the most advanced, but a dream come true for fans of the ice-cold robot cop. The action trip is especially worthwhile for the low price. (5 euros, reduced by 90 percent)
  • Mafia Trilogy  – The remake of the brilliant first part alone would make this offer worthwhile, but you also get Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 thrown in for good measure. How does the saying go? An offer you can’t refuse. Unless you want to. (12 euros, reduced by 80 percent)

  • Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew – The last hurrah from the stealth tactics experts at Mimimi takes you to the Caribbean, where you and your cursed crew battle the Inquisition. This game is the crown jewel of an entire genre. (10 euros, reduced by 75 percent)
  • Her Story – A little recommendation if you’re in the mood for something completely different. In Her Story, you rummage through the police video archive to uncover a mystery. Your game if you want to feel like a real detective. (€1, 89% off)
  • Bioshock Infinite – Like its predecessors, the third Bishock is one of the classics of the shooter genre. Only here, instead of the underwater kingdom of Rapture, the setting is the seemingly carefree cloud city of Columbia. But it wouldn’t be Bioshock if everything didn’t go up in flames at some point. (11 euros, reduced by 80 percent)
  • Old World – Still disappointed with Civ 7 and looking for alternatives? Don’t overlook Old World! This global strategy game is very reminiscent of Civ in terms of empire management, but offers more exciting story events. However, the focus is entirely on ancient times. (10 euros, reduced by 75 percent)

These are by no means all the offers worth checking out during the big GOG sale! Keep your eyes open. But don’t forget to compare prices. You can often find the same deals or even cheaper ones on other store sites such as Steam or Epic. Just in case you prefer to buy your games there – but only GOG offers them all without copy protection.
