Between ice and madness: a faction splits off

In the world of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, a new power is entering the stage—mysterious, terrifying, and anything but ordinary. The Schism have broken away from the Alvar, the greatest power in Jadame, and founded their own community. Their goal: to find a radical solution to the threat posed by the Hive – whatever the cost.

Far from the centers of civilization, the renegades have created a new empire in frosty valleys and rugged ice mountains. There, a strict order prevails, characterized by knowledge, unwavering discipline, and an obsession with deciphering the ancient rites of their Vori ancestors. But what they bring to light is not only knowledge, but a magic that borders dangerously close to madness.

“Tentacles, ice magic, and forbidden rituals” – why the Schism will polarize

The new trailer, presented by Hooded Horse, Ubisoft, and Unfrozen, gives a taste of what’s to come. The leaders of the Schism wield a menacing form of ice magic that can not only freeze the battle, but also block their opponents’ abilities. Their dark incantations summon monstrous creatures – beings that could have come straight out of a Lovecraft nightmare.

According to the developers, “fans of Lovecraft, forbidden rituals, ice magic, and tentacles” are sure to get their money’s worth. Indeed, the faction combines precisely those dark elements that fascinate and disturb players in equal measure. With a mixture of ruthless control and overpowering armies, the Schism aim to crush their opponents. It’s a tactic that adds an eerily exciting new facet to the series.

A launch date for Early Access on Steam has yet to be announced.nbsp; However, Ubisoft already has its sights set on October 9: The anniversary stream celebrating the series’ 30th birthday could reveal not only a release date, but perhaps even a shadow drop. Who knows – maybe the ice front of the Schism will descend upon us sooner than expected.
