Is Battlefield jealous if you have other shooters installed? Of course not, the strange error message is related to a very unemotional software conflict.
Some players were quite surprised when Battlefield 6 asked them to disconnect from the first-person shooter Valorant.
However, the uninstall instruction is not part of a malicious campaign by Electronic Arts against Riot Games, but rather the result of two anti-cheat systems that are interfering with each other.
Reddit user AnAveragePlayer wanted to start the beta version of Battlefield 6 and received the following message from the game:
Battlefield 6 just told me to uninstall Valorant. Literally.

He should uninstall the incompatible software that was preventing the game from starting, namely Valorant. However, there is a fairly simple explanation for this.
AnAveragePlayer tried to run both games simultaneously on his PC, which led to the problems.
This is generally not a particularly good idea, as both programs compete for the available hardware.
The problem can be easily solved by not trying to play two games at the same time. Which is actually impossible with two fast-paced first-person shooters.
In a post on X , Riot’s lead developer of Vanguard once again clarified that both anti-cheat systems are compatible and that you don’t have to uninstall either game.
This isn’t the first time EA’s Javelin has caused a few problems. Secure Boot must be enabled in order to play Battlefield 6. Without this security feature, the game cannot be launched. You can find out how this works in a separate article.
The second beta weekend for Battlefield 6 is coming up, where players can look forward to some additional content such as new modes and a new map. The first weekend alone set a player record of over half a million users on Steam. The release is then scheduled for October 10, 2025.
