Battlefield 6 has been available to play for barely 24 hours and cheaters are already flooding the servers, but maybe that’s actually a good thing.

The first cheaters are already running rampant on the servers. This is causing a lot of anger at the moment, but it could end up backfiring on the cheaters in the future.

Battlefield 6 has entered open beta. Anyone with an early access code has been able to rush across the battlefields since August 7, 2025. Everyone else can try out the multiplayer shooter from August 9 to 10 and then again from August 14 to 17.

It didn’t even take 24 hours for a familiar topic to boil up in the fan community: cheaters. Like flies to manure, they are drawn to spoil the fun for other players.

Relevant videos are circulating on social media

Anyone who is active in the Battlefield bubble and currently visits social media platforms such as X won’t have to look far to find revealing videos: Yes, people are already cheating in the open beta of Battlefield 6!

The public cheating is particularly annoying because EA and developer DICE require all players to install the anti-cheat program Javelin, which is deeply embedded in the operating system. The official reason: protection against cheaters.

At present, Javelin is still of little use. However, this could change in the future. And this brings us back to the own goal mentioned at the beginning, which the cheaters are ideally scoring themselves. This is because all the tricks and cheats that are already being exploited in the open beta serve as training methods for the anti-cheat tool to improve its detection capabilities.

In other words: Ideally, many of the current cheats will no longer work when Battlefield 6 is finally released. Then at least the current annoyance with cheaters would have some silver lining.

Have you already had any experience with cheaters in the open beta of Battlefield 6? Do you think EA and DICE will get the problem under control before the final release? Or do you have a bad feeling about the period after launch? Feel free to share your thoughts on the topic in the comments!
