Cyberpunk fans now have a new reason to check out the free tactical shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite.

CD Projekt Red released the extensive update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 17, 2025. Just a few days later, some fans already have something else to look forward to with an announcement about the sci-fi role-playing game.
Together with developer MoreFun Games, the publisher announced via X a crossover between Cyberpunk and Arena Breakout: Infinite .

What it’s all about: The only thing that is certain so far is that Cyberpunk will be featured in the free tactical extraction shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite. What exactly that entails is not yet clear. The short teaser trailer suggests that players will at least be able to wear V’s iconic samurai jacket.

When will the crossover start? Exact information about the release and the conditions for activation are not yet available at this time.

You can get a first glimpse of the collaboration in the 19-second teaser trailer:

Not the first crossover: Cyberpunk 2077 has already appeared in several other games. These include the poker roguelite Balatro, the car ball game Rocket League, and the long-running hit Fortnite.

What kind of game is Arena Breakout: Infinite?

In this tactical extraction shooter, you loot the abandoned region of Kamona and then try to escape alive – otherwise, everything you’ve collected is lost. You compete with other players who are pursuing the same goal.

The game focuses on realistic gameplay and a dense atmosphere and tries to be a little more beginner-friendly than its genre competitor Escape from Tarkov. There are different types of equipment, over 20 weapon slots, and more than 900 weapon modifications, allowing you to equip yourself according to your preferred play style. With Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, players not only get new vehicles, but also completely new ways to travel through Night City. There are also additional features for the photo mode. You can find more information in the link box above. There you will also find an analysis by our shooter expert and newsroom manager Phil, who suspects that there is a pay-to-win mechanic behind Arena Breakout.
