When elegance becomes a threat
The dark rulers of Nightreign have received reinforcements – but not all of them are welcome. With the so-called Everdark version of the Intelligent Plague, an enemy is now looming that already caused many to break out in a sweat in its basic form. But now things are getting really serious.
What makes this battle so special is the dynamic duo of bosses: a beetle on the ground, tough as granite, and a floating moth that relentlessly fires spells – both are difficult to hit and even harder to defeat. As soon as they unite in phase two, the battle turns into a veritable hail of magic, light, and chaos. Those who prefer close combat have little chance against the nimble moth anyway.
In forums and on Reddit , comments from disappointed fans are now piling up. While some keep their sense of humor and talk about “magic diarrhea” flying at them, others openly admit that they never want to fight this boss a second time. The community is divided—but one thing is clear: the frustration factor is enormous.
Nevertheless, FromSoftware remains adamant. Balance adjustments? Not a chance. On the contrary, the developers have hinted that they want to test precisely this limit. And looking at past updates, it’s unlikely that the boss will be toned down in its current form.
Nightreign Update Boss brings pure escalation
Starting July 3, at 3 a.m. sharp, the moment will finally arrive: The Ever Dark version of Gnoster will be released – as the official highlight of the next Nightreign update. With this, the title is finally turning up the heat for PvE fans. If you want to win the battle, you’ll need to perfectly coordinate your equipment, timing, and movement.
Interesting: Unlike many previous bosses, Gnoster not only forces you to rethink your strategy, but also to work together. In co-op mode in particular, it becomes clear how much success depends on clearly defined roles – such as a tank who ties up the beetle while ranged fighters target the moth.
With the new update, you can now clearly see which type a weapon is assigned to in every weapon menu. In addition, bugs in matchmaking have been fixed, as well as an error in the multiplayer gesture “It’s raining!”, which now works correctly again.
As usual, all other changes can be found in the official patch notes.
