Fans in Berlin will celebrate the launch with a midnight sale at Alexanderplatz, while Nintendo will be present at the DoKomi trade fair in Düsseldorf with gaming stations

Brick-and-mortar retailers are also gearing up for peak business.Shop-in-shop areas in electronics stores such as MediaMarkt, Saturn, and Expert are getting a visual makeover for the new generation At the same time, cinema spots have been flickering across screens since mid-May, followed by digital posters and TV spots in early June. Those who attended the launch event in Berlin in April were able to get their hands on the console in advance – including some previously unseen features of the new Joy-Con edition.

Nintendo Switch 2 – Technical boost with availability question

The Switch 2 will be released intwo versions: Individually for €469.99 or bundled with the launch title Mario Kart World for €509.99.According to Nintendo, the latter will only be produced until fall, so anyone who wants to secure this combo should not delay. Particularly sought-after: the first edition is already sold out in many places. Online retailers are currently only listing the device sporadically, which indicates significantly higher demand than expected.

Another notable feature is support for the PD (Power Delivery) fast charging protocol. This allows the console to be fully charged in just one hour, with 30 minutes of charging providing approximately 5 hours of playtime. This fast charging feature is particularly convenient for gamers who are short on time. Nintendo has also taken sustainability into account by using environmentally friendly materials and a battery that retains 80% of its capacity even after 1,000 charging cycles.

However, there is hope for last-minute buyers: Nintendo promises that stores will be supplied with fresh stock in time for the launch, including retailers in Germany, Austria, and other European markets. The company aims to sell a total of 15 million units by the end of the year. Many retailers are expecting long queues and quick sales on the first day. Those who miss out should keep their eyes and ears open – depending on the region, additional deliveries could arrive as early as next week.
