Three months before release, Rogue Factor has released the system requirements for Hell is Us. 4K enthusiasts in particular will have to prepare themselves for some hefty specs.
Update from June 3, 2025: You can now see for yourself how Hell is Us runs on your system, as the free demo is available for download on Steam. We also tried out how well the game runs on an RTX 4090.
The action-adventure game “Hell is Us” is considered one of the open-world hopes of recent times. No HUD, no quest signs, just an open game world that you have to fight your way through.
Well ahead of its release on September 4, 2025, developer studio Rogue Factor has now published detailed system requirements for the PC version on the X platform. The necessary specifications are divided into five categories:
“Minimum” (Medium / 1080p / 30 Fps)

- GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
“High” (High / 1440p / 60 Fps)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-11700K / AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 / AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
“Very High” (Very High / 1440p / 60 Fps)

In all cases, Windows 10 64-bit or newer is required as the operating system.
30 GB of free storage space is sufficient – however, this must be an SSD.
So far, so good – but the crux of the matter is hidden in a side note on the X post. All system requirements mentioned, as well as the target resolution/frame rate, refer to upscaling being enabled.
This means that Hell is Us requires an RTX 4090 to achieve a smooth 30 FPS at 4K resolution.
Rogue Factor is also somewhat reassuring at this point: The requirements are “ideal specifications.” This does not mean that the game will not run on lower settings; however, the studio prefers to be cautious and simply does not want to promise too much.
Hell is Us quick check
We also tested how cautious Rogue Factor really is with its requirements in a very compact quick test of the free demo. This means that a computer with RTX 4090 on ultra settings and upscaling enabled (performance preset) has to run through the 4K-resolution open world for a few minutes.
Here’s what we found in the first 20 minutes of gameplay:
- The target of 30 FPS is easily achieved with the specified configuration. On average, you can expect to see values in the mid-40s. However, there are occasional stuttering issues.
- This is also reflected in the 1% lows, where the pendulum swings to just under 38 FPS.
- The VRAM load indicated by our benchmark tool is also interesting to note: on average, Hell is Us requires around 12 GB of video memory, with peaks of up to 13 GB.
