After weeks of half the internet wondering what would happen if 100 men fought a gorilla, a new Steam game will soon provide the answer.

Anyone who regularly uses social media has surely been confronted with the question in recent weeks: Who would win in a deadly fight: 100 men or a full-grown gorilla? While it is unlikely that the experiment will actually be carried out anytime soon, a developer has decided to at least do it digitally: as a standalone PC game on Steam.

Get in, hit it, and find out!

While it shouldn’t be a problem to outrun a gorilla in Mario Kart, things look rather bleak in a direct fistfight. But as the infamous Yu-Gi-Oh card mass attack tactic demonstrated over 20 years ago, weaker creatures can become quite powerful when they outnumber their opponents.

What it’s all about: The question of how many people a gorilla could take out on its own is almost as old as the internet itself. At the end of April, however, it was brought back to the surface by TikTok and is now occupying numerous users on all social media platforms.

Gorilla Vs 100 Men is a game dedicated exclusively to this conflict. You slip into the role of the gorilla and fight (surprise, surprise) against 100 men. If this challenge becomes too laughable for you as an amateur primate, you can fight people in arcade mode until you lose – or until you get bored.

Developer GrodGames describes its meme game as both efficient and inviting: Can a gorilla defeat 100 men? Get in, hit them, and find out!

The crazy action experience is set to be released on July 15, 2025 The price is not yet known, but you can already add it to your wish list on Steam

What do the experts say about the conflict?

In fact, there are few experts who have specialized in gorilla fighting as part of their studies – at least not under such unusual conditions. Strictly speaking, depending on the game’s success, the developer behind GrodGames could even be the first person in the world to earn a living from it.

Tara Stoinski, president and scientific director of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, believes that humans could win, but certainly not all of them would survive. In a direct fight, the gorilla would have a huge advantage, but humans could use their intelligence and numbers to develop a strategy that the ape couldn’t easily circumvent. In a 1v1, however, there’s no doubt that even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would stand no chance.

But don’t be afraid! The chance of encountering a gorilla in Europe may never be zero, but it remains extremely low. And unless you’re threatening the monkey’s family or look like the NES version of Pauline from Donkey Kong, these peaceful creatures pose no danger.
