In the playtest of the new extraction shooter, only a few players were able to defeat the final boss – despite numerous attempts.

The new multiplayer shooter Arc Raiders has completed a very successful playtest that impressed many players. Developer Embark Studios, which is also responsible for the map destruction shooter The Finals, has released some interesting statistics about the closed beta.

The queen was almost impossible to beat

In Arc Raiders, you try to complete the round with as much valuable loot as possible without being killed by the AI or other players. Of course, you get particularly good loot from particularly difficult opponents.

The toughest boss in the game is the Queen, or Queen Harvester, a giant robot spider and, as Embark’s statistics show, a real challenge.

During the playtest, the Queen was only defeated 58 times, despite players investing a total of 1.7 million hours in the beta.

The following Reddit post demonstrates what the battle against the queen can look like. Several groups of players joined forces but still failed:

Further statistics: During the specified playtime, a total of 4 million rounds were completed and 7 million enemies were defeated.

When the X article was published, only one player had managed to upgrade “Scrappy the Rooster” to the maximum level. The rooster lives in your base and brings you materials depending on his level.

How do you play Arc Raiders?

As in PvPvE and extraction shooters you enter an open game world and try to find the best loot possible before leaving the map. You fight not only against AI opponents, but also other groups of players.

After a round, you sell your loot and use the materials you’ve collected to craft new weapons. With the skill points you earn, you can unlock permanent abilities and bonuses.

The current playtest is complete and Embark is now evaluating player feedback. It is currently unknown whether another test run will be held. There is no release date yet, but Embark is planning a release in 2025.
