The three-person development team has landed a new publisher. This also has an impact on the distribution model.

German city-building game – well, who thought of Anno now? Oh, wait, the two guys back there say The Settlers, okay. Well, anyone else? Ah, over there. Who are you, what is your name? Sören? And what game did you have in mind? Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale – hm?

Let’s be honest: Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale is not really well known to many of you yet. We want to change that! And fittingly, there is some news to report that has a major impact on the game.

New publisher…

As reported by Gameswirtschaft, the small indie development team Magni Games has found a publisher for their medieval MMO: Daedalic Entertainment.

Arriving at the harbor of an experienced publisher like Daedalic should give the project a lot of momentum. Previously, Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale was mainly driven by funding. The good news has been announced by the small team in a new video, which also shows fresh game scenes:

.. and a new business model

The docking at Daedalic also has a major impact on the distribution model: Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale will no longer be a Free2Play game, but will be distributed as a classic Buy2Play title

Magni Games says in a statement:

We realize that some of you were interested in Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale precisely because it was originally planned as a free-to-play title. However, after careful consideration, we are convinced that the majority of the community – as well as the game itself and its further development – will benefit significantly more from this decision.

What is the game about?

In Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale, you build your medieval trading city, ensure an optimal flow of your goods, engage in diplomacy, and much more. If this sounds exciting to you, you can already put the game on your wish list on Steam. An exact release date has not yet been set. However, tests are apparently still planned for 2025, for which you will also be able to register. Those waiting for the final version will probably have to wait until 2026.

What is your first impression of Kreuer, Krone & Kabale? Do you have room for another development game with German charm alongside your Annos, Settlers and Patricians?
