The big Refresh Update for EA FC 25 brings comprehensive gameplay improvements, including smoother attacks, more precise passes and reworked defense.
EA Sports FC 25With the new Gameplay Refresh Update, EA Sports FC 25 gets the biggest gameplay overhaul in series history, right in time for the middle of the season.
Based on feedback from the community, EA Sports is making many major adjustments to core mechanics such as passing, shooting, defending and goalkeeping behavior.

1. Defenders can no longer catch up with fast attackers so easily
A frequently criticized point was that slow defenders could easily catch up with even the fastest strikers. This imbalance is now being corrected. Slower defenders will find it much more difficult to stop fast dribblers

2. Smarter attacking play thanks to improved AI running
Your AI teammates in attack now act more intelligently: They better stop their runs on the offside line, position themselves more sensibly and return from offside faster.
Players with attacking roles, such as inside forwards, now move forward in a more targeted manner and better recognize when they should sprint into open spaces or occupy a position.
3. Successful tackles are better rewarded
Frustrating situations in which the opponent has regained possession immediately after a successful tackle are a thing of the past. Defenders with the Anticipate-PlayStyle now also pass the ball more accurately to teammates, and ball control after successful tackles has been improved overall.
4. Goalkeepers react better to shots on the near post
Goalkeepers were often in a bad position, especially when shots were taken at the near post. With the update, they now position themselves closer to the near post and react more realistically to shots from acute angles.
5. Faster and more precise passing game
Passing has become more fluid: Normal flat passes are now faster, short passes to open players are more precise, and semi-automatic through balls are significantly more effective. At the same time, overly strong passes, such as the volley lob through ball, have been toned down.
6. More Effective Finishes in the Box
Shots from inside the box, especially regular and finesse shots, are now more powerful and accurate.In addition, players without the Finesse PlayStyle benefit more from their shooting values, making more players dangerous in front of goal.
7. More personal responsibility in defense
In competitive modes like Ultimate Team, the AI intervenes less on the defensive: Defenders no longer mark dribblers as tightly and automatically block shot trajectories less often. You now have to be more active in defending yourself. At the same time, the behavior during counterattacks after corners has been improved, and wingbacks return to their positions faster.
