The developers of Assassin’s Creed Mirage confirm that the new installment in the series will completely forgo classic service, and DLCs are also likely off the table.

Assassin’s Creed has always had its finger on the pulse, taking every pay option in recent years from DLCs to permanent service. But with Assassin’s Creed Mirage the team now wants to get back to its roots and that goes for post-release support as well.

As developers Stephane Boudon, Jean-Luc Sala and Sarah Beaulieu confirmed in (an AMA on Reddit) Assassin’s Creed Mirage will neither receive major DLCs nor be significantly supported after release The game is scheduled for release on October 12

In detail, Stephan Boudon answered a question from a user who wanted to know if replaying missions will be built in after release. To which Boudon replied:

At this time there are no plans for DLCs or extensive support after the release of Mirage

No new content for Mirage?

Of course, Boudon is hedging his bets with a At the moment after all plans can change Just ask Lando Calrissian. However, with a series as big as Assassin’s Creed, it seems unlikely that there aren’t fairly precise marketing plans in place ahead of time

If it stays that way, Mirage will be the first Assassin’s Creed in six years without extensive post-release support. With Origins, Ubisoft geared the series towards longer-term support for the first time and accordingly also relied on many role-playing mechanics, which will also be done away with again in Mirage.

Not a single DLC has there been for an Assassin’s Creed, by the way, since the very first part over 16 years ago.

By the way, Mirage does not completely dispense with additional paid content. For example, you can also buy the game in the Deluxe Edition and for ten euros more you will receive a deluxe package in which you can find a special Prince of Persia-inspired outfit.

What do you think about this announcement and the game itself? Are you looking forward to Assassin’s Creed reminiscing in terms of DLCs and going back to a time long behind us? Or do you wish for the return of the game concept from Odyssey or Valhalla, which had their own unique strengths? Write it in the comments!
