Dr. Disrespect is still active on Youtube despite his Twitch ban. The streamer talks about wanting to create his own video game.

Successful streamer Herschel “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm is thinking about making his own video game. The US-American, who himself worked on multiplayer maps in Call of Duty a few years ago, seems to be getting bored of CoD: Warzone and would prefer to build an IP worth billions.

“I’m realising more and more that we should make our own game,” Dr Disrespect said in one of his livestreams on Call of Duty: Warzone last week. The 39-year-old envisions a budget of 20 to 25 million as a suitable funding amount: “We’re building a billion-dollar IP with that. I think that’s pretty easy. Just look at the competition.”

Dr. Disrespect primarily plays Battle Royale titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone, PUBG, Apex Legends or Fortnite. Accordingly, his finger is also pointed at these games because he has repeatedly criticised them for in-game problems in the past.

According to him, the industry is waiting for the next groundbreaking idea. For Dr. Disrespect, only a few games are at the top in the long run. Many small titles would only come and go. A crucial new factor was missing, he said. “There has to be a game mechanic that is revolutionary. The experience has to be unique, that draws you in. Look at Fortnite: in the end, the unique selling point is building – obviously,” the streamer said.

However, despite his interest in making his own game, Dr Disrespect has yet to explain any specific procedures or confirm whether there is currently a development process in place. Nevertheless, his development background for Sledgehammer Games and work on maps such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare should not be underestimated.

Moreover, the streamer, who has 3.38 million subscribers on YouTube, is one of the best earners in his industry – even without a presence on Twitch since his ban last year. Insofar as he wants to invest a little in a project himself or convince sponsors, a certain start-up capital for a new kind of video game should not be a big hurdle.
