After the release of Minecraft Dungeons, a hack-n-slay RPG in the popular sandbox universe, Minecraft: Legends will soon be followed by a strategy game. Of course, this raises the question of how exactly this is supposed to work. The trailer explains it, and at the same time presents you with some gameplay scenes.

The different mobs and their function in Legends are introduced to you. The big twist is that this time they are not hostile to you. The world of Legends is a utopia in which everyone lives peacefully together. At least until the Piglins invade the world. To defend yourself, you can recruit the once hostile creatures for your army. Creepers are no longer your arch-enemies here, but help you to tear down the walls of enemy fortresses.

So far, there is no fixed release date for Minecraft: Legends. However, the developer Mojang states that it should be released in the course of 2023.
