The wheels seem to be in motion for Battlefield 2042. DICE is putting map re-releases into rotation. Plus, an insider claims to know even more.

The first season of Battlefield 2042 is approaching, that much well-read gamers already know from official sources. Another new feature has now been officially confirmed: Classic maps from Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 are coming to the main mode All-Out Warfare.

But that’s not enough exciting information: Meanwhile, insider Tom Henderson claims to have narrowed down the launch date of Season 1 to a few days. We’ll put you in the picture!

Classic Maps for Battlefield 2042

Even before the first Season, on June 2, 2022, four classic Battlefield maps will return to the regular rotation. This change is already live. For a limited time, Conquest 64 mode will be called Exodus Conquest and will include the following four levels that were previously only playable in Portal mode:

  • Noshar Canals from Battlefield 3
  • Caspian Border from Battlefield 3
  • Valparaiso from Bad Company 2
  • Arica Harbor from Bad Company 2

Fans of the older titles in particular will be delighted with the return of the classics. But newcomers will also find new playgrounds that promise some variety in view of the lack of new content in the last seven months. And something also seems to be moving with regard to Season 1.

Meanwhile, the developers are busy reworking the much-criticised maps and specialists. The video shows how this is shaping up:

Possible release date of Season 1

Officially, it is known that the first season of Battlefield 2042 is set to launch in early June. Insider Tom Henderson now claims via Tryhardguides.com to know more details and exact dates.

Henderson has been a fixture in the shooter genre for years, is considered extremely well-connected and has already unearthed a lot of accurate info on Battlefield and Call of Duty. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that his statements are not official and should therefore be treated with caution.

Specifically, Henderson claims that Season 1 should start on 8 June 2022 at the latest. This would be in line with the official time frame. Furthermore, Henderson believes that a trailer for Season 1 should be released no later than 7 June. But we will have to wait and see if that really comes to pass.
