Road to Vostok is an ambitious project by a single developer from Finland. According to his own statements, he used to be a lieutenant in the army and has ten years of experience in game development.

The hardcore survival game is intended to be an intense single-player experience. The setting is an as yet undefined environmental catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions. Initially, you will move through three zones located on the Russian-Finnish border. There you will have to protect yourself from disease and acquire raw materials, equipment and weapons in order to survive.

This video is one of a series of video blogs demonstrating the progress on and plans for the game. The footage gives a first impression of the visuals and atmosphere of the shooter and shows how realistic the handling of the weapons is supposed to be. Specifically, the breath control and the penetrating power of the bullets through different surfaces are addressed.

A first public demo is planned for the third quarter of 2022. A second one is to follow a year later, and sometime after that an Early Access release is to take place on Steam. The price for this version is initially set at 10 US dollars. At the time of release, the price will still be a moderate 20 dollars.
