Since the start of the pandemic, many offline gaming events have had to be relocated to the online format. This was as true for Gamescom as it was for E3. The latter was supposed to take place online again in January after initial announcements. But now gaming journalist Jeff Grubb is causing a stir. Could E3 2022 be cancelled altogether?

The latest variant of COVID-19 is causing great concern among event organisers of all kinds. Would it be better to move events to the online format? Or is it best to just cancel everything? The organisers of E3 2022 also seem to be in this dilemma. While at the beginning of the year there was still talk of a renewed move to digital, VentureBeat editor Jeff Grubb unfortunately seems to have bad news. Digital E3 could also be cancelled.

Using the announcement about the likely cancelled E3 2022, Geoff Keighley announced Summer Game Fest 2022. This summer gaming event can be held online as usual thanks to its online format.

We will keep you posted on further updates about E3 2022.
