The first update for FIFA 22 is just around the corner and brings first important changes for Ultimate Team and gameplay. Among other things the goalkeepers will be adjusted.

The FIFA community has to be strong now. The first patch for FIFA 22 is just around the corner and brings some innovations with it. Menu-Streamer:innen could be especially happy about it.

With the first patch the FIFA cycle starts, which the community knows only too well.

We can’t say yet how the patch will affect the game. As always, you’ll have to be patient on the next-gen consoles. A few important changes await us, however.

More excitement in walkouts

If you have a look at the FIFA 22 patch notes, the word ‘Walkout’ jumps out at you in the first lines. With the new update in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team the players should enter later during a walkout. Until now, you had the problem that you saw the players right at the beginning of the animation and therefore couldn’t build up any tension. Menu streamers will surely be happy about this.

Goalkeepers:inside toned down

Until now, the short corner of a goal was virtually insurmountable. However, goalkeepers will be weakened after the new patch. Accordingly, the probability that shots into the short corner from a distance of 11.27 metres will be parried is significantly lower after the patch.

Better defensive logic on counters after a corner kick

So far in FIFA 22 you had the danger to get into a counterattack after an own corner kick, which is not solved well by the CPU defence. The problem was that the defence was far too far away from the opponents and just ran along. After the update, the defence should behave more intelligently.

Improvement of the referees

Of course, you can always question the referee’s decisions in real football. In FIFA 22 there were also situations in which unnecessary penalties were whistled or active bumping of the goalkeeper was not whistled. The new update is supposed to revise the logical decisions here as well.

From our point of view these were the most important adjustments in the first patch for FIFA 22. All other points and more detailed explanations you can find here
