New World hits home with Twitch streamers. We look at the numbers and opinions from Asmongold, shroud and Dhalucard.

New World is Amazon’s challenging foray into the MMO sphere. Given the game’s incredible support and relatively strong beta months ago, well-known streamers are flocking to New World’s servers following its release. Just days after its release on Tuesday, New World garnered nearly a million concurrent viewers and has already amassed over half a billion hours of viewing on Twitch.

First among the raters is Asmongold, known for his streams of World of Warcraft. If anyone can give feedback on an MMO, it’s probably the polarising content creator. Initially, Asmongold was critical of the game during its beta, citing problems in player vs. player (PvP) combat.

Asmongold seems to have changed his mind with the full release of the game. The MMO veteran praised the game for the massive improvements it has made since the beta, calling it an “above average MMO”. Other notable streamers such as Shroud, Towelliee and countless other streamers have also put hundreds of hours into the MMO.

Shroud – best known for Counter-Strike and VALORANT – is also an MMORPG connoisseur.  The American also gives the game a positive review. He mentioned that the title can be challenging for new casual players due to the required grind level.

The German streamer Dhalucard is also one of the eager testers of New World. Dhalucard reports a lot of positive things about the game, but he is hard on some of his fellow players. The influencer cites insults, rants and lies as annoying side noises in New World.

As an example, Dhalucard adds: “Today I came online – stand against a wall, get something to drink and a crowd forms around me and someone says: ‘He’s been standing here since yesterday and uses macros to stay online’ People think up shit all the time, it’s unimaginable.”

Overall, the makers of New World can look back on positive feedback regarding the gameplay component. While World of Warcraft is currently losing popularity, new MMOs are growing. New World could take the lead in the MMO genre in the future if its popularity remains the same.
