CoD pro Scump has turned his attention to the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone in several streams. Few recognised the esportsman and cheating accusations followed at the same time.

Pure skill or cheap cheating? CoD pro Seth “Scump” Abner took to Warzone during the CoD League break in his Twitch streams. In doing so, he performed so well that he had to listen to cheating accusations from the chat as well as social media users.v

Scump started his first Warzone streams at the beginning of September. After a short time, the comment columns were already filled with accusations that he was obviously hacking and using a Cronus. This is an adapter for controllers. However, it can also be used to mod the game and, for example, reduce the recoil of a weapon.

A world champion who cheats?

Apparently some viewers, to whom the pro’s stream was probably suggested on the Explore page, don’t realise who Scump is. The OpTic Chicago esports player has been playing at the pro level for over 10 years, winning 28 major tournaments and even taking the world title in 2017. According to Esports Earnings, he has already earned almost one million US dollars in prize money over the course of his career.

However, the accusations did not only come from the bubble of the ignorant: Hacking comments also followed from people who are aware that Scump is a world-class professional.

So far, there are no concrete indications of cheating in his streams. The accusations are therefore unjustified. Scump’s good performance therefore seems to be based entirely on his skill and experience.
